If battery life and a lower price are your priorities, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i is a solid choice, as it also offers a reasonable performance for general use. However, if you need higher performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming and prefer a more portable device with a better-quality screen, the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 stands out despite its higher price. The ASUS's battery life is shorter though, so it might not be the best pick if you need to work unplugged for extended periods. The Lenovo is a bit heavier and less portable compared to the ASUS. Both have similar memory, but the ASUS provides more storage space. Keep in mind that gaming, engineering tasks, and high-performance applications will greatly benefit from the ASUS's superior hardware, but for everyday tasks and longer battery life at a more affordable price, the Lenovo would suffice. The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i is good.
The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 stands out for engineering and design tasks due to its high-performance CPU (Intel i9), substantial graphics capability with an Nvidia RTX GPU, and a sharp, bright display with a high refresh rate which contributes to smoother visuals. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i, while still suitable for engineering, features a less powerful CPU (Intel i7) and integrated GPU, which are adequate but may not handle graphically intensive tasks as efficiently; however, it compensates with greater battery life and lower operating noise, making it a good choice for long hours of work.

The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 features a high-resolution display with vibrant colors and brightness, making it excellent for general tasks and detail-oriented work in engineering and design due to its broad color gamut coverage. However, its lower refresh rate hampers the gaming and 3D experience, where smooth motion is crucial for immersive gameplay. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i, while still offering decent resolution and color accuracy for everyday use and professional design work, also falls short for gaming and 3D purposes due to a similarly low refresh rate.

The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 excels in general use due to its high-end CPU, ample RAM, superior screen quality with a higher resolution and touch capability, and the unique feature of a detachable keyboard that can transform it into a tablet, offering versatility but with lower battery life. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i is still suitable for general use with adequate performance from its CPU and RAM, decent screen quality, and a significantly longer battery life, which makes it more portable, but lacks the premium screen characteristics and computing power found in the ASUS.

How the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a gaming tablet with powerful Alder Lake i9 CPU. The ROG Flow Z13 impresses with its good cooling. After our review, the impression is predominantly positive. Besides a very fast Alder Lake CPU and stable gaming performance, especially the cooling system is surprisingly effective and quiet. You can use the integrated speakers without any issues while gaming. The 1200p display in the 16:10 format also impresses with good color reproduction and high brightness. Since the battery runtimes aren't particularly long as it is, we wouldn't recommend the optional 4K panel."
"Among Lenovo's multiple laptop brands, the IdeaPad family is decidedly the one designed for consumers: people who want decent performance at a reasonable price. Consider, then, this laptop a paragon for the pickier members of that crowd. With a 14-inch touch-enabled display, a comfortable keyboard, an Evo-certified Intel Core i7 11th Generation CPU, and the latest Windows 11 operating system, the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro ultraportable ($1,199 as tested) is a slick mainstream machine at a bit of a premium price, and quite capable for everyday tasks."
