The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 offers a more compact design with a higher-resolution touchscreen, making it well suited for portability and tasks like photo editing or design work. However, this comes with a higher price and lower battery life than the ASUS TUF Gaming A17, which could be a better value if you prioritize longer off-the-charger use and a larger screen for multitasking and gaming. The Gaming A17 also has a slightly more powerful GPU, which could be beneficial for more intensive gaming and 3D work, but it is significantly heavier, affecting its portability. Both laptops have similar storage and memory capacities, so your decision may hinge on the importance of screen size, battery life, and whether or not a touchscreen matters for your workflow. The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 has a better screen than the ASUS TUF Gaming A17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 provides superior screen quality for general use and engineering tasks due to its high resolution and brightness, which enhances readability and detail, along with a wide color gamut that ensures accurate color representation essential for design work. However, its lower refresh rate compared to gaming-specific laptops makes it less optimal for gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is key. On the other hand, the ASUS TUF Gaming A17's screen, with fair overall quality, falls short in both resolution and color accuracy for professional design and may not offer the immersive gaming experience due to poor refresh rates.

How the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 and the ASUS TUF Gaming A17 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a gaming tablet with powerful Alder Lake i9 CPU. The ROG Flow Z13 impresses with its good cooling. After our review, the impression is predominantly positive. Besides a very fast Alder Lake CPU and stable gaming performance, especially the cooling system is surprisingly effective and quiet. You can use the integrated speakers without any issues while gaming. The 1200p display in the 16:10 format also impresses with good color reproduction and high brightness. Since the battery runtimes aren't particularly long as it is, we wouldn't recommend the optional 4K panel."
"There is one big question that needs an answer. Is the TUF Gaming A17 FA707 a better purchase than the ROG Strix G17 G713R (2022)? Well, it depends. Undoubtedly, the Strix is the more premium product. Arguably the biggest advantage it has over its TUF fellow is in regards to the display. ASUS TUF Gaming A17 A707’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a very good contrast ratio."
