The ASUS ROG Flow X13 is a high-end laptop with a premium price that excels in performance, with a powerful processor and GPU suitable for intensive tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or engineering work. It also has a high refresh rate display, which is ideal for gaming. However, it is less portable and has shorter battery life than the Lenovo Flex 5 16. The Lenovo Flex 5 16, on the other hand, is priced in the lower midrange and offers longer battery life and greater portability at the cost of lower performance, making it suitable for general use and less demanding engineering tasks. The ASUS ROG Flow X13 is very good for general use, while the Lenovo Flex 5 16 is good.
The ASUS ROG Flow X13 excels in general use due to its higher-performing CPU and graphics card, which are suitable for more demanding tasks, and its higher screen quality as seen in brightness and color coverage; it also has a larger storage capacity but a slight compromise on battery life compared to the Lenovo Flex 5 16. On the other hand, the Lenovo offers a larger screen, longer battery life, and may be more appealing for those prioritizing a lighter device with a quieter operation and effective heat management, though it may lag slightly behind in high-performance tasks.

The ASUS ROG Flow X13 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo Flex 5 16 is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Flow X13 outperforms the Lenovo Flex 5 16 in gaming and 3D applications mainly because it has a more powerful Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU and a higher screen refresh rate of 165 Hz compared to the Flex 5's Intel Iris Xe graphics and 60 Hz refresh rate. Although both have quality CPUs and high-resolution screens, these components are less critical than the GPU and refresh rate for gaming performance.

The ASUS ROG Flow X13 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo Flex 5 16 is good.
The ASUS ROG Flow X13 stands out for engineering and design thanks to its powerful AMD Ryzen 9 CPU and RTX 4070 GPU, which deliver high performance necessary for demanding applications and renderings, whereas the Lenovo Flex 5 16, with its Intel i7 CPU and integrated Iris Xe graphics, offers capable performance but may lag in more intensive tasks, despite its larger screen which is beneficial for multitasking and design work. High-quality IPS screens on both laptops ensure good screen quality for design accuracy, with the ASUS excelling with higher brightness and color coverage, while for considerations like portability and battery life, the lighter ASUS is less cumbersome to carry but has shorter battery life compared to the Lenovo, making the latter a more travel-friendly option with a longer-lasting battery.

The ASUS ROG Flow X13 has a better screen than the Lenovo Flex 5 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the ASUS ROG Flow X13's high resolution and brightness, along with a superior panel type, provide sharp images and vivid colors, enhancing the overall viewing experience more so than the Lenovo Flex 5 16. When it comes to engineering and design, the ASUS ROG Flow X13 covers a wider range of colors, crucial for accurate visual representations, which is beneficial over the Lenovo Flex 5 16. However, gamers and 3D designers may find the ASUS less appealing due to a lower refresh rate compared to what is typically desired for fluid motion, despite the higher resolution and panel quality not being as important as refresh rate in this context.

"The Asus ROG Flow X13 is not an off-the-shelf convertible. This quickly becomes clear when you take a closer look at the technical specs. The AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS is a state-of-the-art SoC with 8 cores and 16 threads, which also makes the 2-in-1 interesting as a work device. With 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD, gamers are also well taken care of. The dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q fits well into the overall concept and ensures a solid 3D performance. With the eGPU dock, which is equipped with a GeForce RTX 3080, the small convertible transforms into a full-fledged desktop replacement in terms of performance."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 is a solidly equipped, 2-in-1 in the lower price segment. Performance is definitely sufficient for everyday tasks and in tests the battery proved itself to be very economical. That aside, there is a lot of standard fare on show and a search for real highlights ends in vain. The low color coverage and reflective display can be avoided by going for an optional 2.5K display but this also presumably results in poorer battery life. The cooling uses only one fan and leads to a raised temperature on one side of the device under load. Additionally, there is very loud fan noise, also under load or when gaming. On top of that, we also occasionally noticed electronic noises."
