If you prioritize high performance for engineering tasks and can accommodate a less portable device with a longer battery life, the Apple MacBook Pro 16 may suit you well. On the other hand, the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is more portable with a touch screen and detachable keyboard, better suited for gaming due to its dedicated Nvidia graphics card and higher refresh rate display, but with shorter battery life. For general use, both have fast processors, high-quality displays with accurate colors, and sufficient storage capacity, though the ASUS houses twice the storage of the MacBook Pro. However, the MacBook's larger screen and longer battery life are significant benefits for extensive work sessions. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Pro 16 has a better screen than the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 for general use, AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Apple MacBook Pro 16 (2021) excels in screen quality for general use and engineering due to its high resolution, brightness, and wide color gamuts, making it ideal for sharp, color-critical work. However, its screen's lower refresh rate is less optimal for 3D applications which benefit from smoother visuals. On the other hand, the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 offers a high-resolution display suitable for both general use and detailed engineering work, yet its moderate refresh rate doesn't fully satisfy the demands of gaming and 3D tasks seeking fluid motion.

How the Apple MacBook Pro 16 (2021) and the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Pro 16 2023: M2 Max challenges GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. The new MacBook Pro 16 2023 with the M2 Max SoC is the most powerful laptop Apple has on sale right now. While we do not get the expected performance and efficiency improvements from completely new 3 nm chips, which we expected ahead of the launch, the 2023 model is still a solid update. The CPU of the M2 Max can be up to 20 % faster than the old model and we also see an advantage of 25-30 % for the GPU with 38 cores. However, both components also consume more power, so the efficiency did not change that much under maximum load."
"The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a gaming tablet with powerful Alder Lake i9 CPU. The ROG Flow Z13 impresses with its good cooling. After our review, the impression is predominantly positive. Besides a very fast Alder Lake CPU and stable gaming performance, especially the cooling system is surprisingly effective and quiet. You can use the integrated speakers without any issues while gaming. The 1200p display in the 16:10 format also impresses with good color reproduction and high brightness. Since the battery runtimes aren't particularly long as it is, we wouldn't recommend the optional 4K panel."
