Considering your decision between the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) and the Lenovo Legion 5 15", here are key points you should consider. The MacBook Pro typically offers a sleek design, long battery life, and strong performance for general use and creative work, like video editing and graphic design, due to its optimized software/hardware integration. However, it is pricier and might not be the best choice for gaming or customization. On the other hand, the Legion 5 15" offers excellent gaming performance with high-quality graphics capability and typically comes at a lower price point but is heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less portable. If your primary use is productivity and portability is key for you, the MacBook Pro could be the preferred choice, but if you're into gaming or require a more powerful machine for intensive engineering tasks and are fine with a bulkier laptop, the Legion might be more suitable. The Lenovo Legion 5 15" is good for gaming and AI, while the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) is only fair.
The Lenovo Legion 5, with its high refresh rate screen and dedicated Nvidia RTX GPU, is well-suited for gaming and 3D applications, offering a smooth visual experience and strong graphics performance. The Apple MacBook Pro 13, while capable of 3D tasks, has limitations in gaming due to the absence of many popular games on macOS and less powerful integrated graphics compared to the Lenovo.

The Lenovo Legion 5 15" is very good for engineering and design, while the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) is good.
The Lenovo Legion 5 15" is rated very good for engineering and design use largely due to its higher RAM, powerful AMD Ryzen CPU, and discrete Nvidia RTX GPU which excel in compute-intensive tasks, whereas the Apple MacBook Pro 13" with its M2 chip and integrated GPU is good for such tasks but is tailored more towards users who value portability and a quieter, fanless design, along with its superior screen quality and brightness. While both have high-quality displays, the MacBook Pro's lesser performance components compared to the Legion make it more suited for less demanding engineering and design work, but its lightweight design and longer battery life offer an advantage for on-the-go use.

The Apple MacBook Pro 13 has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion 5 15" for engineering and design, software development, and content creation, while the Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a better screen for gaming and AI.
The Apple MacBook Pro 13's high-resolution display and exceptional brightness make it ideal for general use, while its wide color gamuts assure accurate color reproduction necessary for high-quality engineering and design work. The Lenovo Legion 5's screen also provides sharp imagery and brightness adequate for general tasks, and while it has good color coverage, it falls short of the MacBook Pro's color fidelity which is essential for precise engineering and design. However, its higher refresh rate makes it more suitable for 3D applications and gaming compared to the MacBook Pro, which is not optimal for such tasks due to a lower refresh rate despite its high resolution and panel quality.

How the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) and the Lenovo Legion 5 15" compare to other laptops
"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
