Based on the information provided, if you value higher storage, more RAM, better overall and engineering performance at a less expensive price, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 might be the preferable option. However, it has a shorter battery life and a lower portability score compared to the MacBook Pro. On the other hand, the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) boasts a longer battery life, excellent build quality, and a higher portability score, alongside a fanless design for silent operation. It could be better if you prefer macOS, need a laptop with a higher-quality display and screen colors, or require a device with a better keyboard. Yet, it has less storage, less RAM, and is more expensive than the Vivobook. Consider how these factors align with your needs and preferences when making your decision. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Pro 13 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook S 15 for general use, AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Apple MacBook Pro 13, with its high-resolution display and bright panel, provides sharp images and vibrant colors suitable for both general use and professional engineering/design tasks, where color accuracy is critical. Its screen does, however, have a lower refresh rate, which can be a limitation for 3D applications where smoother motion is preferred. In contrast, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 offers a fair viewing experience for everyday tasks and design work, but its screen may not have the same color range or brightness, and its lower refresh rate can hinder gaming and 3D performance.

The Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) and ASUS Vivobook S 15 are both good for engineering and design.
The Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) is well-suited for engineering and design due to its high-quality screen, efficient CPU, and integrated GPU that's powerful for its class, whereas the ASUS Vivobook S 15 offers a larger and higher capacity storage, more RAM for potentially better multitasking, and a dedicated GPU which can be beneficial for certain design applications; both laptops offer IPS screens with good color accuracy, but the MacBook's higher resolution and color space coverage may be preferable for detail-oriented design work. The MacBook is lighter and quieter with a longer battery life, enhancing portability and comfort for extended use, while the Vivobook's larger screen and additional RAM slots provide more room for expansion and versatility, though it is slightly heavier and noisier under load.

How the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) and the ASUS Vivobook S 15 compare to other laptops
"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
"Internals make Asus VivoBook S15 laptop a compelling option. The Asus multimedia laptop may look rather below-average with its modest black chassis, lack of a dedicated GPU, limited RAM and meagre port selection without Thunderbolt support. But your impression of the device will start changing once you set your eyes on its high-contrast OLED capable of producing deep blacks and highly accurate colours. And your opinion will change completely when the VivoBook is switched on. The AMD CPU can effortlessly keep up with powerful rivals from Intel. The integrated Radeon graphics blows away Intel's iGPU when it comes to graphics workloads such as rendering and simpler games."
