However, the MacBook Pro wins on portability with a lighter, thinner design and silent operation, and it has a very high-quality screen despite its smaller size and simpler integrated graphics.

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 has a better screen than the Apple MacBook Pro 13 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When selecting a laptop, consider the MacBook Pro 13 if you prioritize high-resolution displays and brightness for tasks like web browsing or document editing, and vivid color reproduction for design work, but note that its refresh rate may not be ideal for 3D applications. Alternatively, the ASUS ROG Strix G18 offers similar benefits for general use and engineering but also falls short for gaming and 3D, likely due to a lower refresh rate, which is vital for smooth motion in these applications. Overall, choose the MacBook Pro if your focus is on visual accuracy in design, or the ASUS if you prefer a gaming-oriented brand despite the limited 3D performance.

How the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) and the ASUS ROG Strix G18 compare to other laptops
"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
"With the ROG Strix G18, Asus has made an almost consistently good debut in the still quite new 18-inch laptop segment. The base unit case shows a few signs of weakness in the area of stability and is something which has an effect on the perceived quality of the input devices (the chassis tends to rattle a bit). Nevertheless, thanks to generous port features (incl. Thunderbolt 4), a striking design, and extensive lighting (keyboard, LED strip on the front), gamers get a fitting gaming platform."
