If you are looking for a balanced blend of performance and portability for general use, the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) is an excellent choice due to its strong battery life and lightweight design; however, if you require a laptop for more intensive gaming or engineering tasks, you might favor the ASUS ROG Strix G15, which offers better performance for those specific applications but is less portable and typically has shorter battery life. The ASUS could also be more cost-effective if high-end gaming capabilities are a priority, while the MacBook Pro tends to come with a higher price tag and is more suited for users invested in the Apple ecosystem aiming for software compatibility with other Apple devices. The Apple MacBook Pro 13 has a better screen than the ASUS ROG Strix G15 for general use, engineering and design, and software development, while the ASUS ROG Strix G15 has a better screen for gaming and AI.
The MacBook Pro 13's screen offers high resolution and brightness, making it ideal for both daily tasks and color-sensitive work in engineering and design, thanks to its wide color gamut. The ASUS ROG Strix G15 also provides a solid display for everyday activities and design, but its color range might not be as broad as the MacBook Pro's, which is key for precision in color work. However, for 3D applications which benefit from high refresh rates, neither the MacBook Pro nor the ASUS ROG Strix G15 excels, as they are designed more for resolution and color accuracy than the smooth motion provided by faster screens.

The ASUS ROG Strix G15 and Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) are both good for engineering and design.
The Apple MacBook Pro 13, with its Apple M2 CPU and integrated 10-core GPU, delivers solid performance for engineering and design tasks, with superior screen quality, but its 8 GB RAM may limit very demanding workflows compared to the ASUS ROG Strix G15, which offers a higher-end AMD Ryzen 9 CPU, Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti GPU, and 16 GB RAM for more intense tasks, but at the cost of added weight and somewhat lower screen resolution. The MacBook's advantage lies in portability, silent operation, and longer battery life, making it more suitable for on-the-go use, while the ROG Strix G15 offers expandable memory and storage options, a more gaming-oriented feature set, and potentially better heat management for sustained performance under load.

How the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) and the ASUS ROG Strix G15 compare to other laptops
"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
"The ASUS ROG Strix G15 is a successful high-performance 15-inch laptop. The Asus ROG Strix impresses with an elaborate design and fast hardware. The latter can unleash its potential well in the large 15-inch case and achieve a decent performance boost compared to the previous generation. Especially the stunning 300 Hz display as well as the RTX 3070 and its generous TDP give gamers their money's worth. Asus didn't neglect seemingly small details, either, such as the keyboard and the maintenance options. The ROG Strix G15 offers a lot of pure performance and excellent workmanship in a 15-inch format, but connectivity leaves something to be desired."
