Selecting between the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) and the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 depends on your priorities. The MacBook Air is more portable and offers a higher battery life, making it ideal for general use and those who prioritize mobility. It has a standout screen suitable for tasks involving color accuracy, and its silent, fanless design ensures quiet operation. Conversely, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5, with its more powerful processor and dedicated graphics card, is better suited for 3D tasks, machine learning, and engineering software. It also excels in gaming with hardware ray tracing capabilities. If you need more storage and memory, the Lenovo might be better, as it also allows further expansion. However, you'll trade off some portability as it's heavier and has a shorter battery life than the MacBook Air. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Air 15 has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Apple MacBook Air’s superior resolution and brightness make it excellent for general use and engineering, ensuring crisp, vibrant visuals, while a wide color gamut supports precise color work required in engineering and design. The Lenovo Legion Slim 5, while offering good general performance, may not match the MacBook Air in color representation, impacting tasks that rely on color accuracy. However, for 3D work, both laptops may fall short due to their lower refresh rates, which can hinder the smooth rendering of fast-moving images essential in 3D applications.

How the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) and the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air 15 is boringly good. The new MacBook Air 15 is a very good, but also boring device, because apart from the larger screen and the higher price, there are no differences compared to the smaller MacBook Air M2 from last year. No new processor, no additional ports, just the usual basic hardware - but the overall package is extremely good and it simply works. Above all, the lack of fans is an aspect that should not be underestimated in everyday use. In our opinion, the Air could be a lot better, but Apple goes easy on itself here."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
