The Apple MacBook Air is typically lighter and has longer battery life, making it suitable for everyday tasks and portability, while the ASUS ROG Strix is designed for high-performance activities like gaming, 3D design, and machine learning, with a stronger graphics card and faster processor. The MacBook Air may be more budget-friendly and offers a seamless experience with other Apple products, but the ASUS has superior hardware for demanding applications, albeit with a higher price and reduced battery life. If you prioritize gaming or intensive tasks, consider the ASUS; for general use and portability, the MacBook Air is more appropriate. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 (2024) is very good for general use, while the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) is good.
The Apple MacBook Air 15, with its emphasis on portability and battery life combined with a high-quality screen, is suitable for users who prioritize ease of carrying and long usage times away from power outlets, making it excellent for everyday tasks. The ASUS ROG Strix G18, however, offers more powerful CPU and RAM options which enhance performance for demanding applications, along with premium screen quality, but these come at the expense of increased weight and decreased battery life, leaning towards users who need extra power for intensive tasks and are less concerned about mobility.

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 has a better screen than the Apple MacBook Air 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When considering screen quality for general use, the Apple MacBook Air exhibits high resolution and brightness, which contribute to sharp, vivid visuals that are easy to view under various lighting conditions. For engineering and design tasks, both laptops provide wide color gamuts, essential for accurate color representation and detailed graphics work. However, for 3D applications, the MacBook Air might fall short due to a lower refresh rate, which is less ideal for the smooth rendering of fast-moving images compared to laptops specifically designed for high-refresh-rate gaming and 3D modeling.

How the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) and the ASUS ROG Strix G18 (2024) compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air 15 is boringly good. The new MacBook Air 15 is a very good, but also boring device, because apart from the larger screen and the higher price, there are no differences compared to the smaller MacBook Air M2 from last year. No new processor, no additional ports, just the usual basic hardware - but the overall package is extremely good and it simply works. Above all, the lack of fans is an aspect that should not be underestimated in everyday use. In our opinion, the Air could be a lot better, but Apple goes easy on itself here."
"With the ROG Strix G18, Asus has made an almost consistently good debut in the still quite new 18-inch laptop segment. The base unit case shows a few signs of weakness in the area of stability and is something which has an effect on the perceived quality of the input devices (the chassis tends to rattle a bit). Nevertheless, thanks to generous port features (incl. Thunderbolt 4), a striking design, and extensive lighting (keyboard, LED strip on the front), gamers get a fitting gaming platform."
