The Apple MacBook Air (2020) is more portable, has a better build quality, and is silent due to fanless operation, making it well-suited for general use, especially if you prefer macOS and a higher-resolution display. Its performance is robust for everyday activities, and it offers longer battery life. However, it is pricier compared to the Lenovo. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" offers a larger screen with touchscreen functionality, more storage out of the box, and a dedicated number pad, which could be preferable for productivity tasks. It runs on Windows, supports a wider range of software for engineering tasks, and is more budget-friendly. Both have similar RAM and processing power, but the Lenovo may handle certain 3D and engineering applications better due to its hardware and is capable of light gaming. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Air has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" for general use, AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Apple MacBook Air's screen is highly regarded for general use and engineering due to its high resolution and wide color gamut, offering crisp images and accurate color reproduction that are essential for detail-oriented work. However, its lower refresh rate makes it less suitable for 3D applications, which require smoother motion to be effectively displayed. Conversely, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 offers a fair experience for general use and engineering with adequate resolution and color representation, yet falls short for gaming and 3D, as it also lacks the high refresh rate needed for optimal motion rendering.

How the Apple MacBook Air (2020) and the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air M2 Entry is a very good, but too expensive daily MacBook. The new MacBook Air M2 is undoubtedly once again a very good mobile companion, but we are still a little bit disappointed on a very high level, which is definitely connected with the increased price point. The new chassis is extremely slim and the front edge is no problem during typing, but the bezels are pretty wide for a modern device and in addition with the vertical space required for the notch, the new Air has larger footprint than some Windows rivals."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 is convincing due to its long battery life. The device scores points especially with its large battery and long battery runtimes combined with its low consumption. The CPU and GPU perform in the test as one would expect, and in line with what was familiar from the somewhat smaller 14-inch sister model, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14."
