If you prioritize portability and a silent, fanless operation in a laptop with a high-quality display for general use, the Apple MacBook Air (2020) with its lighter weight and longer battery life would be a suitable choice. On the other hand, if you need more built-in storage, a higher amount of RAM for more robust multitasking and engineering tasks, and a touchscreen, you might prefer the Dell Inspiron 16 5625, despite it being heavier and having a shorter battery life. Both have similar prices, but the Dell offers double the storage and RAM compared to the MacBook Air. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Air has a better screen than the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 for general use, AI, and engineering and design.
The MacBook Air, known for its high-resolution Retina display and excellent brightness, offers vibrant and clear visuals essential for general use and detail-oriented tasks in engineering and design, thanks to its wide color gamut coverage. The Dell Inspiron 16 5625, while providing a fair visual experience for everyday tasks, may not match the MacBook Air in terms of color accuracy or brightness, making it less suitable for professionals in design fields who rely on precise color representation. For gaming and 3D applications that require fast screen refresh rates, both laptops fall short, with the MacBook Air designed more for productivity than high-frame-rate experiences, and the Dell Inspiron not equipped with a display that prioritizes the smooth motion needed in high-speed gaming scenarios.

The Apple MacBook Air (2020) and Dell Inspiron 16 5625 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Apple MacBook Air, with its integrated graphics, is not optimized for 3D applications or gaming, and its macOS limits game compatibility, while the Dell Inspiron 16 5625's dedicated GPU and higher refresh rate make it better suited for these tasks, albeit with constraints due to its midrange components. How the Apple MacBook Air (2020) and the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air M2 Entry is a very good, but too expensive daily MacBook. The new MacBook Air M2 is undoubtedly once again a very good mobile companion, but we are still a little bit disappointed on a very high level, which is definitely connected with the increased price point. The new chassis is extremely slim and the front edge is no problem during typing, but the bezels are pretty wide for a modern device and in addition with the vertical space required for the notch, the new Air has larger footprint than some Windows rivals."
"I think there is fair value in the Inspiron 16 this year. Very little has changed with the laptop and my opinion hasn’t really changed either. In other words, I like it. Overall, I think the pros far outweigh the cons of this laptop and the price is certainly justifiable. I found this to be a great typer and I could potentially work all day on this machine, provided I don’t need a graphics card."
