The LG Gram 16 has a better screen than the Acer Swift X for general use, engineering and design, and content creation.
For general use, screen quality is typically judged by how clear and vibrant the display is, and both the Acer Swift X and LG Gram 16 offer sharp resolutions and bright panels, making texts and images clear and easy on the eyes. In engineering and design tasks, accurate color reproduction is critical, and these laptops provide good coverage of color gamuts, ensuring that the designs you work on are color-accurate and true to life. However, for gaming and 3D applications, a high refresh rate is crucial for smooth motion and responsiveness, which neither of these laptops prioritize, resulting in less fluid visuals in fast-paced scenarios.

The Acer Swift X (2022) and LG Gram 16 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Acer Swift X (2022) and LG Gram 16 are both "fair" for gaming and 3D because they are equipped with mid-range and integrated GPUs respectively; neither are high-end gaming GPUs that provide peak performance for demanding games and 3D applications. Additionally, both have the same 60Hz display refresh rate, which is lower than gaming-targeted laptops, possibly leading to less smooth visuals in fast-paced games and less fluidity in 3D rendering tasks.

The Acer Swift X (2022) and LG Gram 16 are both good for engineering and design.
The Acer Swift X (2022) stands out for engineering and design due to its powerful Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU, which compliments its solid CPU and RAM foundation, whereas the LG Gram 16 offers a compelling blend of portability and screen quality with its lighter build and higher screen resolution, though it sacrifices GPU power with its integrated Intel graphics for quieter running noise, making it less suited for GPU-intensive tasks compared to the Acer. While both laptops have substantial RAM and capable CPUs necessary for engineering and design software, your choice may hinge on whether you need the Acer's higher graphics capabilities for tasks like 3D modeling or prefer the LG's portability and display for less graphically demanding work.

How the Acer Swift X (2022) and the LG Gram 16 compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"The LG Gram 16 is a lightweight device with stability issues. The LG Gram 16Z90Q with a Core i7-1260P is made with portability in mind and places less of a focus on users with high demands on performance. The compact and light chassis is particularly practical when you are on the go. The device is not only comfortably small and lightweight, it also boasts a great battery life. When connected to mains, on the other hand, the 16-inch device is rather disappointing. The standard cooling mode causes extreme volatility in terms of CPU, SSD and iGPU performance. The meager stability of the chassis may also put off some potential buyers."
