The Acer Swift X offers better performance for intensive tasks like engineering or 3D work, as it has a more powerful processor and dedicated graphics. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3's integrated graphics may not keep up with heavy graphical workloads. However, the IdeaPad 3 has a much larger screen, which may be preferred for multitasking and media consumption, but it is heavier and less portable. If you need more portability and battery life for general use, the lighter and smaller Acer Swift X might be more appropriate. Keep in mind, the Acer is usually more expensive but provides better overall performance. Give Feedback

The Acer Swift X (2022) and Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" are both good for general use, though the Acer Swift X (2022) is somewhat better.
The Acer Swift X (2022) excels in general use with its powerful Intel CPU and ample RAM, providing snappy performance, while its higher resolution screen and lighter design contribute to better portability and viewing experience, albeit with slightly less battery life. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" offers a larger screen, which is beneficial for multitasking and media, but has a less powerful AMD CPU and less RAM, impacting its multitasking capability, while also being heavier and less portable.

The Acer Swift X (2022) is good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is only fair.
The Acer Swift X (2022) is better suited for engineering and design due to its higher-end CPU, more RAM, and a dedicated Nvidia RTX GPU which greatly enhances performance for compute-intensive tasks and graphics work, coupled with a high-quality display. The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is less suitable because, while it has a larger screen, it comes with a less powerful integrated GPU and less RAM which may hinder multitasking and advanced design tasks, despite its larger display and adequate CPU for lighter workloads.

The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, both the Acer Swift X and Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" offer panels with adequate resolution and brightness, ensuring clear and vivid images when browsing the web, editing documents, or watching videos. In engineering and design, color accuracy is paramount, and these laptops provide satisfactory color coverage that caters to professionals who need to work with precise color representations. However, for gaming and 3D applications where fast-moving visuals are common, the lower refresh rates on these screens mean they are less suitable, as they cannot render smooth, tear-free motion as effectively as high-refresh-rate displays.

How the Acer Swift X (2022) and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
