The Acer Swift X is more budget-friendly and fairly capable for everyday tasks, but if you're looking for high-end gaming or professional work requiring top-notch graphics and processing power, the Gigabyte Aorus 17H, although more expensive, will better meet these demands. Keep in mind that the larger size and heavier weight of the Gigabyte Aorus 17H may affect its portability, while the Acer Swift X offers a balance between performance and ease of carrying. The Gigabyte Aorus 17H is very good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Swift X (2022) is only fair.
The Gigabyte Aorus 17H offers superior gaming and 3D capabilities compared to the Acer Swift X (2022) primarily due to its much more powerful GPU and a screen with a higher refresh rate, which allows for smoother visuals and can take advantage of the greater graphics processing power. While the Acer Swift X provides decent performance with its lower-tier GPU and an adequate refresh rate for casual gaming, it falls behind the higher-tier GPU and superior refresh rate of the Aorus 17H, which better cater to demanding gaming and 3D applications.

The Gigabyte Aorus 17H is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Swift X (2022) is good.
The Gigabyte Aorus 17H outperforms the Acer Swift X (2022) for engineering and design due to its higher-end CPU and GPU, which translate into more power for intensive tasks, and a far larger, albeit less pixel-dense, display that may benefit design applications. However, the Acer Swift X is lighter and more portable with a sharper screen, which could be advantageous for users requiring mobility and high screen clarity.

The Gigabyte Aorus 17H has a better screen than the Acer Swift X for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The Acer Swift X, with its decent resolution and brightness, makes for comfortable viewing in everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming, but its color coverage might not be as wide as needed for precise engineering and design work, and its lower refresh rate is less ideal for smooth visuals in gaming and 3D applications. The Gigabyte Aorus 17H, with better overall screen quality, offers a more vivid and accurate color representation for professionals in engineering and design, although it falls short in refresh rate, which is essential for a seamless gaming experience. Both laptops have strong points for general and specialized use, but neither is optimized for high-frame-rate gaming or 3D rendering where high refresh rates are crucial for the best experience.

The Gigabyte Aorus 17H and Acer Swift X (2022) are both good for general use.
The Acer Swift X (2022) is well-suited for general use because it's portable with a weight of around 3 pounds and offers a great balance of power with an Intel i7 processor and 16GB of RAM for smooth multitasking, alongside a good battery life and a high-resolution screen. On the other hand, while the Gigabyte Aorus 17H also has an i7 processor and similar RAM, it shines with a larger screen and more robust graphics, making it heavier and less portable with almost double the weight of the Acer, but less suitable for on-the-go use due to its shorter battery life.

How the Acer Swift X (2022) and the Gigabyte Aorus 17H compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"Overall though, it’s *lots of swearing* fast, seriously. For work, rendering, gaming, it doesn’t matter, this is a true weapon of performance that’s going to run rings around most high-end desktop systems. If you absolutely have to game at ultra-high refresh rates on the go (but within thinking distance of a plug socket), this is the ticket. I can’t see such an extreme being that appealing to everyone, but if you take your gaming seriously, or even professionally, there’s nothing else out there that comes close that you can still fit in your backpack and travel with."
