The Acer Swift X (2022) is more expensive, but offers a better balance between performance and portability, making it suitable for general use and light engineering tasks with its decent battery life. However, the ASUS TUF Gaming A16, despite being less expensive, is designed for gaming and intensive tasks, featuring a more powerful GPU and CPU which could be beneficial for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering software, but weighs more which impacts its portability. Additionally, the TUF Gaming A16 boasts a higher refresh rate display and a larger screen, which can be great for gaming and immersive experiences, alongside longer battery life. Consider the Acer Swift X if you prioritize a lightweight and versatile laptop, whereas the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 is ideal if you require stronger performance, especially for gaming or demanding applications, and can handle a heavier device. How the Acer Swift X (2022) and the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"The A16 makes an excellent case against more expensive laptops like the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 and the MSI Katana GF76, especially if you’re into 1080p gaming. However, although its affordable, it doesn’t skimp on performance or a robust chassis. But for me, the biggest factor that sets it apart from these options is its incredible battery life. In my time reviewing laptops, I can’t remember when I last saw a gaming laptop lasted 11 and a half hours on a single charge, which makes the A16, in my book, truly outstanding."
