If price is a major concern and you need a laptop for general use with good portability and respectable battery life, the Acer Swift X is a sensible choice. However, if you require top-notch performance for demanding tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming and don't mind spending more and dealing with a heavier and bulkier laptop with shorter battery life, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 is tailored for these high-intensity applications. Consider how you’ll use the laptop most to guide your decision, balancing your budget against your need for power or convenience. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2024) is very good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Swift X (2022) is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix G16 has a more powerful GPU and higher screen refresh rate, which makes it better suited for gaming and 3D applications, offering smoother visuals and more detailed graphics. In comparison, the Acer Swift X, while capable, has a less robust GPU and lower refresh rate, resulting in less graphic intensity and slower screen response.

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2024) is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Swift X (2022) is good.
The Acer Swift X, while offering solid performance for engineering tasks with competent CPU, RAM, and GPU specifications, may fall short compared to the ASUS ROG Strix G16, which excels with more powerful components and a higher quality display for demanding design work. However, the Swift X gains an edge in portability and is likely quieter under load, but those preferring the premium screen and keyboard for prolonged engineering sessions may find the added weight and potential fan noise of the ROG Strix an acceptable trade-off.

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 has a better screen than the Acer Swift X for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Swift X offers a balanced screen with decent resolution and brightness, making it suitable for everyday tasks and productivity, but lacks the high color gamut coverage needed for precise engineering and design work, and its lower refresh rate isn't ideal for fast-paced 3D applications. The ASUS ROG Strix G16, with its high resolution and superior brightness, excels in both general use and detailed engineering tasks, thanks to its wide color gamut providing accurate color representation, yet its poorer refresh rate reduces the smoothness needed for immersive gaming and 3D work. Buyers should prioritize screen attributes based on their specific needs, with the Acer being more tailored to general users and the ASUS better for engineering and design professionals, but gamers and 3D artists should look elsewhere for optimal refresh rates.

How the Acer Swift X (2022) and the ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2024) compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."
