The Acer Swift X (2023) is more affordable, lighter and has a longer battery life, which makes it suitable for general use and portability. It features a mid-level performance that can handle everyday tasks and light engineering or creative work. On the other hand, the MSI Raider GE78 is more expensive, offers top-tier performance with more storage and memory, and has a larger screen with a higher refresh rate, making it ideal for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, machine learning, and advanced engineering tasks. It's heavier and has a shorter battery life, so it's less portable than the Acer. Choose the Acer for lightweight daily use and occasional creative tasks, or the MSI if you need a powerful workstation for demanding applications and are okay with less portability. Give Feedback

The MSI Raider GE78 is excellent for engineering and design, while the Acer Swift X (2023) is very good.
The MSI Raider GE78 excels in engineering and design use due to its more powerful Intel i9 processor, double the RAM, and top-tier Nvidia RTX 4090 GPU, providing exceptional performance for demanding tasks and graphics-intensive applications, although it's much heavier and less portable. On the other hand, the Acer Swift X is also suitable, with a capable Intel i5 processor, Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU, and good screen quality, but it has less RAM and a mid-range GPU, making it less ideal for the most intensive tasks, albeit more portable and with a higher battery life for on-the-go use.

The MSI Raider GE78 has a better screen than the Acer Swift X for general use, gaming and AI, content creation, and software development.
If you prioritize a crisp and clear display for everyday tasks like browsing and watching videos, both the Acer Swift X and MSI Raider GE78 provide great resolution and brightness, ensuring comfortable use in various lighting conditions. For those working in fields that require accurate color representation such as graphic design or video editing, these two laptops offer wide color gamuts, a crucial feature for professional visual work. However, while these devices excel in display quality for general use and design, they fall short for gaming and 3D applications due to a lower refresh rate, which can make high-speed content appear less smooth compared to devices with higher refresh rates.

"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"Performance-wise, the GE78 offers a significant boost over the GE77 for just slightly higher power consumption. You'll have to get the RTX 4080 or 4090 configurations to see the performance advantages, however, as the RTX 4070 is closer in performance to the older RTX 3080 Ti. In terms of design, some users might prefer the 16:9 minimalistic look of the older GE77 over the 16:10 retro-inspired GE78 and vice versa. We wouldn't call one better than the other in terms of aesthetics, but we'll give the edge to the GE78 for its stronger hinges and larger keys and clickpad."
