The Acer Swift X (2023) is a better fit for those needing more storage and memory, with a solid performance for general use and more intensive tasks like 3D rendering and engineering work, supported by its good graphics card. It also offers a higher resolution and refresh rate screen which improves the visual experience. However, it is usually priced higher, although it compensates with longer battery life and is slightly more portable due to its lower weight.
On the other hand, the MSI GF63 Thin costs less and has a larger screen, but compromises on storage, memory, and performance, making it less suited for demanding applications. It has a lower quality display and shorter battery life, which may affect productivity and entertainment experiences. This laptop could still serve well for general use and light gaming. The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the MSI GF63 Thin for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
When considering screen quality for general use, the Acer Swift X stands out with its higher resolution and brightness, making for sharper and more vivid images, whereas the MSI GF63 Thin has a lower brightness and resolution, resulting in less clarity and vibrancy. For engineering and design, the Acer Swift X's wider color gamut covers more of the DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB spectra, ensuring more accurate color reproduction, essential for professionals in these fields, while the GF63 Thin has a narrower color gamut, potentially affecting color-sensitive work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the Swift X's lower refresh rate can lead to less fluid motion compared to laptops specialized for these purposes; the GF63 Thin also doesn’t excel here, as both resolution and panel type play a secondary role to refresh rate for such tasks.

"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"If you leave aside the meagre port selection (no card reader, no DisplayPort, no Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen2), the fan control that could be improved (idle mode!) and the relatively dark and slow display, the MSI GF63 Thin 9SC does not have any major weaknesses. The 15-inch gamer is compact, has a low weight and offers a good price-to-performance ratio, which should please gamers that are looking for both a portable and an affordable gaming notebook. Input devices, battery life, case quality and performance are all appropriate for this purchase price."
