If you prioritize gaming and intensive tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning and are willing to pay somewhat more, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" with its more powerful graphics chip and higher refresh rate screen would be suitable. However, this model is heavier and offers less portability. On the other hand, the Acer Swift X (2023) is less expensive and more portable, making it a better choice for general use and work on-the-go, though it has lower performance for demanding applications and less storage. Both have similar screen sizes and resolutions, but the Swift X has higher color accuracy, while the Legion Slim 7 has a faster screen for motion. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" is very good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Swift X (2023) is only fair.
The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 boasts a more advanced GPU and a higher screen refresh rate than the Acer Swift X, making it more suited for highly demanding games and 3D applications, but the Acer is still competent with its own respectable GPU and solid refresh rate for moderate gaming and 3D tasks. However, the Lenovo's stronger gaming orientation comes at the cost of being heavier than the Acer, which may affect portability for those who need to move around frequently.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" and Acer Swift X (2023) are both very good for engineering and design, though the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" is somewhat better.
The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" stands out for engineering and design due to its more powerful GPU, superior screen refresh rate, and higher screen brightness, along with double the storage capacity of the Acer Swift X (2023), which still offers robust performance for engineering tasks with a competent CPU and GPU, but lower screen specs and storage space. While the Acer is lighter and slightly more portable, the Lenovo's larger screen may be better suited for design work despite being less portable due to increased weight.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 has a better screen than the Acer Swift X for general use, gaming and AI, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Swift X and Lenovo Legion Slim 7 both offer high-resolution displays with ample brightness and panel types that make images and text crisp and clear, which greatly enhances the viewing experience for everyday tasks. In engineering and design, the importance of color accuracy comes into focus, and both laptops deliver wide color gamuts ensuring that designers and engineers see precise colors, vital for their work. However, when it comes to gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rates of both laptops' displays can make fast-moving imagery less smooth, which is less than ideal for a high-quality gaming or 3D experience.

The Acer Swift X (2023) offers a balance between performance and portability with its mid-range CPU and a reasonably lightweight design, making it suitable for general use, whereas the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" boasts a higher-end CPU and a better screen, which explains its very good general use classification, although it is heavier and has a slight edge in battery life. Both laptops have ample RAM for multitasking and similar screen quality, but the Legion Slim's larger screen and high refresh rate are desirable for content and may justify its reduced portability.

How the Acer Swift X (2023) and the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
