If you prioritize a lightweight and more portable option with longer battery life for general use, the Acer Swift X (2023) will suit you better. However, if your focus is higher performance for activities like gaming, 3D rendering, or engineering software, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7, with its more powerful graphics card, might serve your needs more effectively, although it's heavier and has a shorter battery life compared with the Acer. Keep in mind, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 has a more vibrant keyboard with RGB lighting and a slightly better build quality, whereas the Acer offers a higher screen resolution and a more color-accurate display. The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Acer Swift X boasts a vibrant, high-resolution display that caters to detail-oriented tasks in engineering and design with accurate colors that professionals appreciate; however, its lower refresh rate holds it back when it comes to the fluid visuals demanded by gaming and 3D applications. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 offers a similarly commendable visual experience for general computing and creative work thanks to respectable color reproduction and clarity, but just like the Swift X, its mediocre refresh rate detracts from its gaming and 3D potential. For general users and professionals in engineering and design, both laptops offer pleasing visual experiences, but gamers and 3D artists looking for smoother on-screen action might find them lacking.

The Acer Swift X (2023) is equipped with an Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU and a high refresh rate screen, suitable for smooth gaming and 3D rendering, while the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 has a more powerful Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU and an even higher screen refresh rate, enhancing gaming performance and graphical tasks even further. Both laptops have capable CPUs and high-quality screens; however, the higher-end GPU and the superior refresh rate of the Lenovo make it the stronger option for intensive gaming and 3D work, with the tradeoff being slightly less portability due to its larger size and weight.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Acer Swift X (2023) to be very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" is good.
The Acer Swift X (2023) is favored by engineers and designers for its high-resolution screen with exceptional color coverage and the Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU which supports tasks requiring decent graphics performance, while its Intel i5-13500H CPU and 16GB RAM provide solid processing capabilities. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" boasts a more powerful AMD Ryzen 7 5800H CPU and a superior Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU, leading to better overall performance, but its heavier build and larger screen marginally compromise portability compared to the Acer. Both have high-quality keyboards and screens with good color accuracy essential for design work, although the Acer has a slightly better balance between performance and portability.

How the Acer Swift X (2023) and the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
