The Acer Swift X (2023) offers better performance with a more powerful processor and dedicated graphics card, suitable for demanding tasks like 3D rendering and machine learning. It also has a higher resolution display with more screen space in a more portable package. Conversely, the Gateway 15.6" costs less and still includes solid performance for general use with integrated graphics but falls behind for intensive work. It also has a larger screen, which, while lower in resolution and portability, may be preferable for those prioritizing screen size over mobility and power. Give Feedback

The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the Gateway 15.6" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
Considering different needs, the Acer Swift X stands out for general use due to its higher resolution and brightness, which offers clearer and more vibrant visuals that are essential for everyday tasks. For engineering and design, its wider color gamuts ensure greater precision in color work and detail, important for professionals in those fields. However, its lower refresh rate hinders performance for gaming and 3D applications, where smoother motion and faster screen updates provided by higher refresh rates are critical.

"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"Some concessions have to be made when shopping for a budget laptop. Walmart's Gateway Ultra Slim laptops succeeds on the affordability front and delivers serviceable specs and good battery life, though it's hard to claim it's the best (or even particularly good) at any particular aspect. Its build quality, especially the touchpad, is mediocre, and its performance is decent but doesn't lead the way. The Gateway does undercut the cost of some competitors and offers ample storage with good connectivity, so it's not to be ignored."
