The Acer Swift 3 offers better performance with more RAM and storage, suiting demanding tasks like engineering better than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3. However, the Surface Laptop Go 3 is slightly more portable due to its smaller size and weight. If you prioritize battery life, the Swift 3 lasts longer on a single charge. For general use, both are capable, but the Swift 3 has a slight edge. The Surface Laptop Go 3 could be preferable if you value a higher resolution and brighter screen. Neither is designed for intensive gaming, but both handle less demanding games due to their integrated graphics. Give Feedback

The Acer Swift 3 has a better screen than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 for software development, and content creation.
The Acer Swift 3 and Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 both have display qualities that satisfy the needs for general use and engineering tasks due to decent resolution, adequate brightness, and reasonable color accuracy which are essential for clear visuals and precise color representation. However, for gaming and 3D applications, these laptops fall short as they lack high refresh rates required for smooth motion rendering, even though their resolution and panel types are sufficient for moderate demands in these areas. Neither of these laptops specialize in high-end gaming or 3D tasks, instead focusing on delivering quality in everyday productivity and professional design work where color fidelity and sharp display are prioritized.

The Acer Swift 3 and Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Acer Swift 3 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 offer fair performance for gaming and 3D applications, mainly due to their integrated Iris Xe graphics which, while decent, cannot match the power of dedicated gaming GPUs and are limited by a standard 60Hz screen refresh rate; though capable for light gaming, these factors make them less suited for demanding gaming and 3D tasks. Additionally, their CPU performance and screen quality are somewhat important, and while adequate, don't push them into the realm of high-end gaming laptops.

How the Acer Swift 3 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 compare to other laptops
"With the Swift 3, Acer delivers a 14-inch laptop with a sleek, slim metal chassis. The latter is of high quality and sturdy enough for everyday use, which is a real plus point among the 700-Euro (~$798) models. A new feature is Thunderbolt 4 in the Type-C format for peripherals or even displays (DisplayPort via Type-C). Unfortunately, a card reader is still missing, and the RAM is completely onboard, so there are no upgrade options here. Acer's 14-incher is affordable, yet it does everything most would want from a truly mobile laptop: Long battery life, a great display, quality, sufficient ports, light weight, and low noise and heat emissions."
"When it comes to affordably priced laptops, the numbers after the dollar sign are crucially important—more so than in any other price category. By increasing the starting price of its Laptop Go line by $200 and not changing much else, Microsoft irrevocably altered the calculus surrounding the decision of whether to buy the Surface Laptop Go 3. Sure, it has a newer processor and longer battery life, but don’t think for a second you’re not paying dearly for that extra RAM and SSD capacity at that new price."
