For general use with a preference for battery life and portability, the Acer Swift 3 would be a good choice as it's lighter and has a slightly better battery performance. However, if a larger screen, touch capability, and higher speaker quality are more important, albeit with a heavier weight, the HP Envy x360 15" may be more appealing. Neither laptop is ideal for intensive gaming, but both can handle general engineering tasks. Keep in mind, the HP has less storage and RAM, which could limit performance in multitasking or intensive tasks when compared to the Acer. Both models come at a similar cost. Give Feedback

The Acer Swift 3 is good for engineering and design, while the HP Envy x360 15" is only fair.
The Acer Swift 3 is better suited for engineering and design tasks due to its higher RAM and more powerful Intel CPU and integrated GPU, which provide better performance with demanding software used in these fields, and its higher screen quality supports precise visual work. While the HP Envy x360 15" offers the versatility of a 2-in-1 convertible design, it has less RAM and a less powerful AMD CPU and GPU, and lower screen quality, which may slow down performance-intensive tasks and be less optimal for detail-oriented design work.

The Acer Swift 3 has a better screen than the HP Envy x360 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Acer Swift 3 offers a higher resolution and brighter display, which makes it suitable for general use and precision tasks like engineering and design, where fine details matter. Its capability to reproduce a wider range of colors benefits professionals in engineering and design who need accurate color representation. However, its lower refresh rate limits the fluidity needed for gaming and 3D applications, where higher refresh rates are crucial for smooth visuals.

The Acer Swift 3 and HP Envy x360 15" are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Acer Swift 3 and HP Envy x360 15" are labeled fair for gaming and 3D because neither has dedicated gaming GPUs or high screen refresh rates; instead, they have integrated graphics, with the Swift 3 using Intel i5-1240P Iris Xe and the Envy employing AMD Ryzen 5 7530U with Vega 7, and both with standard 60Hz displays. While their CPUs and screen quality are decent, with IPS panels and full HD resolutions, the lack of more powerful graphics and faster screen refresh rates limit their gaming and 3D capabilities.

How the Acer Swift 3 and the HP Envy x360 15" compare to other laptops
"With the Swift 3, Acer delivers a 14-inch laptop with a sleek, slim metal chassis. The latter is of high quality and sturdy enough for everyday use, which is a real plus point among the 700-Euro (~$798) models. A new feature is Thunderbolt 4 in the Type-C format for peripherals or even displays (DisplayPort via Type-C). Unfortunately, a card reader is still missing, and the RAM is completely onboard, so there are no upgrade options here. Acer's 14-incher is affordable, yet it does everything most would want from a truly mobile laptop: Long battery life, a great display, quality, sufficient ports, light weight, and low noise and heat emissions."
"Despite its good looks, stellar webcam and comfortable keyboard, the Envy x360 15 is hard to recommend because of its dim, 16:9 display. If the display isn't an issue for you, just be sure to wait for a good sale price. Otherwise, a more modern two-in-one with a 16:10 display such as the Dell Inspiron 16 2-in-1 or Lenovo Yoga 7i 16 provides a larger workspace without adding much to the size and weight of the system."
