The Acer Swift 3 is a budget-friendly option that's lighter and offers a touch screen, long battery life, and decent general use performance, making it a good choice for everyday tasks and portability. On the other hand, the Gigabyte Aero 5, while more expensive, is a powerhouse with superior performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks due to its high-end processor and powerful Nvidia RTX GPU, but it is heavier and has shorter battery life, making it less portable but well-suited for intensive gaming and professional creative work with its high-resolution OLED display. The Gigabyte Aero 5 is good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Swift 3 is only fair.
The Gigabyte Aero 5 is very good for gaming and 3D primarily because it features a high-end Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics card, which is much more powerful than the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics in the Acer Swift 3. Additionally, the Gigabyte has an OLED screen with higher resolution, better color reproduction, and a higher screen quality overall, enhancing the visual experience for gaming and 3D applications over the Acer's IPS display.

The Gigabyte Aero 5 has a better screen than the Acer Swift 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Swift 3, with its acceptable resolution and brightness, delivers a display that's pleasing for everyday tasks and engineering design due to its ability to represent colors decently, however, it falls short for gaming and 3D applications due to a lower refresh rate. The Gigabyte Aero 5, on the other hand, stands out with its superior resolution and brightness, making it ideal for both general use and demanding engineering tasks due to a wider color gamut coverage. Yet, for gaming and 3D work, despite its good color accuracy and resolution, the Aero 5's lower refresh rate might not provide the smooth visuals that fast-paced or highly detailed graphic work requires.

How the Acer Swift 3 and the Gigabyte Aero 5 compare to other laptops
"With the Swift 3, Acer delivers a 14-inch laptop with a sleek, slim metal chassis. The latter is of high quality and sturdy enough for everyday use, which is a real plus point among the 700-Euro (~$798) models. A new feature is Thunderbolt 4 in the Type-C format for peripherals or even displays (DisplayPort via Type-C). Unfortunately, a card reader is still missing, and the RAM is completely onboard, so there are no upgrade options here. Acer's 14-incher is affordable, yet it does everything most would want from a truly mobile laptop: Long battery life, a great display, quality, sufficient ports, light weight, and low noise and heat emissions."
"It is unfortunate that the Gigabyte AERO notebook series have seem to lost its charm, as it’s not exactly any much different from the AORUS series now. Regardless, content creators and designers will certainly still appreciate the features on the AERO 5 XE4, which are fundamental to their work. This largely revolved around the notebook’s display, which is colour calibrated and validated, high resolution (4K) and with great AMOLED colour representation. Now that the AERO 5 XE4 has improved its performance with the latest CPU and GPU, the professionals can also appreciate the improved productivity from the notebook."
