For general use, the Acer Swift 3 is more portable with better battery life and a touch screen, making it user-friendly and convenient for on-the-go tasks, though its overall performance is slightly less robust than the Dell. The Dell Inspiron 16 5635 offers a larger, higher-resolution screen suited for detailed work and entertainment, coupled with greater storage and superior speakers, but it is heavier and has shorter battery life. If you often perform engineering tasks, require more screen real estate, or prioritize multimedia experience, the Dell could suit you better, while the Acer is preferable for greater mobility and touch-screen functionality at a lower cost. The Acer Swift 3 has a better screen than the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 for general use, and engineering and design, while the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 has a better screen for software development.
When choosing between the Acer Swift 3 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 for general use, consider that the Acer likely offers a sharper image and better brightness, which makes for a clearer and more vibrant display. However, for engineering and design, the Acer's superior color range will provide more accurate color representation, a crucial factor for such tasks. For gaming and 3D applications, though, neither laptop is ideal due to the lower refresh rates, which can lead to less fluid motion and slower response times in visually intensive tasks.

How the Acer Swift 3 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 compare to other laptops
"With the Swift 3, Acer delivers a 14-inch laptop with a sleek, slim metal chassis. The latter is of high quality and sturdy enough for everyday use, which is a real plus point among the 700-Euro (~$798) models. A new feature is Thunderbolt 4 in the Type-C format for peripherals or even displays (DisplayPort via Type-C). Unfortunately, a card reader is still missing, and the RAM is completely onboard, so there are no upgrade options here. Acer's 14-incher is affordable, yet it does everything most would want from a truly mobile laptop: Long battery life, a great display, quality, sufficient ports, light weight, and low noise and heat emissions."
"Compared to the previous year’s Inspiron, Dell upgraded the screen aspect ratio on this generation, but also transitioned to a more minimalistic centered keyboard flanked by up-firing speakers. The 16-inch screen is huge plus and I really appreciate the extra real estate without sacrificing the footprint much. This year’s model is a little larger than last, though, as the former model was already very small for a 15 incher."
