The Acer Swift 3 is a budget-friendly option with good portability and battery life, suitable for general use and less demanding tasks. Its lighter weight and less power-intensive components mean it's convenient for on-the-go users who prioritize battery longevity and ease of carrying. On the other hand, the Dell Alienware x14 R1 is more expensive but offers superior performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, engineering tasks, and gaming. This is attributed to its more powerful processor and dedicated graphics. However, it is heavier and has shorter battery life, making it less portable than the Swift 3. If tasks involve intensive computing or gaming, the Alienware x14 R1 is the better choice, but for everyday use and longer working on the go, the Swift 3 could be preferred. Give Feedback

The Dell Alienware x14 R1 is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Swift 3 is good.
The Acer Swift 3, with its mid-range Intel i5 processor and integrated graphics, offers sufficient power for many engineering tasks and design work but may struggle with highly intensive applications, while its good quality IPS screen ensures accurate colors and viewing angles. On the other hand, the Dell Alienware x14 R1, equipped with a more powerful Intel i7 processor and a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU, excels in demanding engineering software and complex design tasks, and its high-quality IPS display with better brightness and color coverage provides a superior visual experience; however, it is heavier and might be less convenient for frequent travel.

The Dell Alienware x14 R1 has a better screen than the Acer Swift 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Swift 3 and Dell Alienware x14 R1 have panels that offer clear visuals and brightness adequate for daily tasks, but when it comes to gaming and 3D applications, they fall short because they lack the high refresh rates needed for smooth motion. In engineering and design, both laptops' screens cover a range of colors well enough to satisfy professional editing and rendering needs, yet they may not fully meet the most demanding color accuracy expectations. The lower refresh rates on these screens aren't typically a barrier for engineering and design work, where color precision and resolution take precedence over the fluidity of motion.

How the Acer Swift 3 and the Dell Alienware x14 R1 compare to other laptops
"With the Swift 3, Acer delivers a 14-inch laptop with a sleek, slim metal chassis. The latter is of high quality and sturdy enough for everyday use, which is a real plus point among the 700-Euro (~$798) models. A new feature is Thunderbolt 4 in the Type-C format for peripherals or even displays (DisplayPort via Type-C). Unfortunately, a card reader is still missing, and the RAM is completely onboard, so there are no upgrade options here. Acer's 14-incher is affordable, yet it does everything most would want from a truly mobile laptop: Long battery life, a great display, quality, sufficient ports, light weight, and low noise and heat emissions."
"The Alienware X14 series is thinner, but also slower than the competition. With the X series, you get plenty of modern technology: Intel Alder Lake CPUs, GeForce RTX 3000 GPUs, Thunderbolt 4, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6E, G-Sync, and Advanced Optimus. However, the slim design has some drawbacks, just like its larger siblings. The shifted hinge position results in a very deep device with a large footprint compared to the competition."
