If performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, or engineering tasks is your priority and you don't mind a heavier and larger laptop with a more gaming-oriented appearance, the ASUS TUF Gaming A17 is well-suited for you. Conversely, if you value portability and longer battery life for general use, the Acer Swift 3 is lighter, more compact, and offers touch screen capabilities. Keep in mind, the Swift 3 is also less expensive than the A17, but it won't perform as well in more intensive tasks due to its lesser graphics capabilities. Give Feedback

When choosing between the Acer Swift 3 and the ASUS TUF Gaming A17 for general use, consider that a screen's resolution and brightness can greatly affect the viewing experience, with the Swift 3 boasting a display that excels in these areas. For engineering and design tasks, accurate color reproduction is crucial; the Swift 3 may have a slight edge if it displays a wider color gamut, which is essential for this type of work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, where high refresh rates are vital to a smooth experience, neither laptop's screen is ideal due to less emphasis on refresh rates, meaning dedicated gamers might require a different model tailored to these needs.

The Acer Swift 3, with its lower weight and smaller screen, offers better portability and a longer battery life for on-the-go use, while the ASUS TUF Gaming A17, featuring a high-performance CPU and advanced graphics for more demanding tasks, provides superior screen quality and substantial storage, but is less portable with a shorter battery life and heavier build, making it better suited for stationary use where gaming or intensive tasks are a priority. Despite both having ample RAM for multitasking, the Acer Swift 3 is more focused on mobility and everyday tasks, whereas the ASUS TUF Gaming A17 is designed for high-performance activities with its powerful components but at the expense of portability and battery efficiency.

How the Acer Swift 3 and the ASUS TUF Gaming A17 compare to other laptops
"With the Swift 3, Acer delivers a 14-inch laptop with a sleek, slim metal chassis. The latter is of high quality and sturdy enough for everyday use, which is a real plus point among the 700-Euro (~$798) models. A new feature is Thunderbolt 4 in the Type-C format for peripherals or even displays (DisplayPort via Type-C). Unfortunately, a card reader is still missing, and the RAM is completely onboard, so there are no upgrade options here. Acer's 14-incher is affordable, yet it does everything most would want from a truly mobile laptop: Long battery life, a great display, quality, sufficient ports, light weight, and low noise and heat emissions."
"There is one big question that needs an answer. Is the TUF Gaming A17 FA707 a better purchase than the ROG Strix G17 G713R (2022)? Well, it depends. Undoubtedly, the Strix is the more premium product. Arguably the biggest advantage it has over its TUF fellow is in regards to the display. ASUS TUF Gaming A17 A707’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a very good contrast ratio."
