To help you decide between the Acer Swift 3 and the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023), consider the following factors. Laptops like the MacBook Air tend to excel in build quality and ecosystem integration, especially if you already use other Apple devices, and they have excellent battery life. However, they come at a premium price and may limit customization and flexibility compared to Windows laptops like the Acer Swift 3. The Swift 3, on the other hand, might offer more value for money, provide a variety of ports, and might be more compatible with a wide range of software applications that are not available for MacOS. If you prioritize portability and battery life, the MacBook Air could be advantageous, but if cost and flexible software compatibility are more critical, the Acer Swift 3 may be the better choice. Remember, the MacBook Air may also provide a better experience for content creation and graphic-intensive tasks, while the Swift 3 could be more than sufficient for general use and productivity tasks. The Apple MacBook Air 15 has a better screen than the Acer Swift 3 for general use, AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Swift 3 provides adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks and sufficient color coverage for most engineering and design work, but lacks the high refresh rates required for smooth rendering in gaming and 3D applications. The Apple MacBook Air, with its typically higher resolution and brighter display, offers a sharper and more vibrant experience for both general use and professional design tasks, where accurate color representation is crucial. However, like the Acer Swift 3, it also falls short for 3D purposes because it doesn't prioritize high refresh rates that are essential for fluid motion during gaming or 3D modeling.

How the Acer Swift 3 and the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) compare to other laptops
"With the Swift 3, Acer delivers a 14-inch laptop with a sleek, slim metal chassis. The latter is of high quality and sturdy enough for everyday use, which is a real plus point among the 700-Euro (~$798) models. A new feature is Thunderbolt 4 in the Type-C format for peripherals or even displays (DisplayPort via Type-C). Unfortunately, a card reader is still missing, and the RAM is completely onboard, so there are no upgrade options here. Acer's 14-incher is affordable, yet it does everything most would want from a truly mobile laptop: Long battery life, a great display, quality, sufficient ports, light weight, and low noise and heat emissions."
"The Apple MacBook Air 15 is boringly good. The new MacBook Air 15 is a very good, but also boring device, because apart from the larger screen and the higher price, there are no differences compared to the smaller MacBook Air M2 from last year. No new processor, no additional ports, just the usual basic hardware - but the overall package is extremely good and it simply works. Above all, the lack of fans is an aspect that should not be underestimated in everyday use. In our opinion, the Air could be a lot better, but Apple goes easy on itself here."
