For a balance of performance and portability with a touchscreen, the Acer Swift 14 is a strong choice, offering a high-performance Intel i7 processor and a sharp, high-resolution display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, suitable for general use and engineering tasks. However, it's pricier and has a lower refresh rate, which might not be ideal for gaming. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED presents a more budget-friendly option with an impressive OLED display, higher refresh rate, and larger screen, making it great for media consumption and general use. It also has a dedicated Intel Arc GPU, which could handle some gaming and creative tasks better than the integrated graphics in the Acer. But, it has less RAM and storage out of the box, and it's not as compact or lightweight as the Acer, which could affect its portability. Give Feedback

Rtings

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Acer Swift 14 is good for school use. Its compact design makes it easy to carry around, and its battery lasts easily through a typical school day. You can configure the laptop with an FHD+ or QHD+ display; both look sharp and get bright enough to combat glare. The keyboard feels tactile but can be a little tiring to type on over an extended period, and while the touchpad is small, it's responsive to all movements and gestures. Its Intel 13th Gen. CPU can handle nearly every type of workload; however, its integrated graphics perform poorly, so it isn't ideal for students in technical fields like 3D graphics."
