The Acer Nitro 5 17 offers a lower midrange price and robust gaming performance, suitable for intensive gaming with its high refresh rate display and 3D rendering capabilities but has a shorter battery life and is less portable due to its larger size. In contrast, the Gigabyte Aero 16 is priced in the midrange segment and excels in screen quality with its high-resolution OLED panel, providing superb color accuracy for creative work or entertainment. The Aero 16 also offers a better battery life and enhanced portability with a lower weight, making it suitable for on-the-go productivity, but it may be less capable for high-frame-rate gaming due to its lower refresh rate display. How the Acer Nitro 5 17 and the Gigabyte Aero 16 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 17 is a solid mid-range gamer. The Nitro 5 does not belong to the top group of RTX 3070 notebooks: Compared with the RTX 3070 notebooks tested so far, the computer delivers below-average frame rates - this is due to the 100-watt TGP. The GPU performance can be increased a bit with a firmware update. The device scores with a high level of CPU performance. Throttling is not a concern. CPU and GPU can produce their performance constantly. The laptop heats up moderately under load. The noise development is on the usual class level."
"The Gigabyte Aero 16 is a workstation laptop for light gaming. It's design is still muted, with a silver chassis alongside a black keyboard and trackpad that provides some contrast. The Gigabyte Aero’s full-size chiclet-style keyboard is enjoyable to type on thanks to its snappy feel and responsiveness. The 4K+ AMOLED display is good, but it could be better. It doesn’t handle true black very well and suffers from strong reflections and glare. The Gigabyte Aero excels at productivity performance and can keep up with other gaming laptops in 1080p. But it has very few ports and its refresh rate leaves a bit to be desired."
