The Acer Nitro 5 17 is more budget-friendly and offers top-tier graphics performance, which is ideal for gaming. However, it has a lower-resolution display compared to the ASUS ROG Strix G17, and its battery life is shorter, which means it's not as suitable for long periods away from a power source. The ASUS, on the other hand, has a higher-resolution display for crisper visuals and a larger battery, which might make it a better choice for tasks that benefit from better screen detail and longer unplugged usage. Both are powerful for general use, 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks, but the ASUS's newer processor gives it an edge in performance. If portability is a concern, both are similar in size and weight, but neither is extremely lightweight. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the Acer Nitro 5 17 for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When considering the Acer Nitro 5 17, the high resolution and brightness along with a reliable panel type provide a vivid and clear display for activities like browsing and watching videos, which makes it well-suited for general use. For engineering and design, this laptop has moderate color accuracy, which could support some level of professional work, but the limited color gamut might not completely satisfy users who need to work with a wide spectrum of colors. The lower refresh rate hampers gaming and 3D modeling performance, leading to less fluid visuals in fast-paced scenarios, which is why it's not ideal for those specific purposes.

How the Acer Nitro 5 17 and the ASUS ROG Strix G17 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 17 is a solid mid-range gamer. The Nitro 5 does not belong to the top group of RTX 3070 notebooks: Compared with the RTX 3070 notebooks tested so far, the computer delivers below-average frame rates - this is due to the 100-watt TGP. The GPU performance can be increased a bit with a firmware update. The device scores with a high level of CPU performance. Throttling is not a concern. CPU and GPU can produce their performance constantly. The laptop heats up moderately under load. The noise development is on the usual class level."
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
