If you value better performance for tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and gaming, the Acer Nitro 5 15 is the better choice since it has a more powerful GPU and CPU, along with more RAM and storage. However, it's heavier and has a slightly lower battery life, making it less portable than the MSI GF63 Thin. On the other hand, if you prioritize a lighter laptop and cost savings but can compromise on performance and storage space, the MSI GF63 Thin may be more suitable for you. It's also worth noting that the MSI has a lower quality display with a slower refresh rate, which might not be ideal for fast-paced gaming or high-quality visual work. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Sascha Mölck | June 2022
"The Acer Nitro 5 is a fast QHD gaming notebook. The Nitro 5 is a well-balanced gaming laptop for just under US$ 2400. A Core i7-12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU enable QHD gaming at high to maximum settings, accompanied by fast PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) and 16 GB of RAM. Acer delivers a solid QHD gaming notebook with the Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, the laptop is not completely free of shortcomings. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The laptop heats up noticeably under load, but not excessively. Noise development is on the usual class level. Once again, however, Acer needs to improve the fan control."

NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | January 2020
"If you leave aside the meagre port selection (no card reader, no DisplayPort, no Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen2), the fan control that could be improved (idle mode!) and the relatively dark and slow display, the MSI GF63 Thin 9SC does not have any major weaknesses. The 15-inch gamer is compact, has a low weight and offers a good price-to-performance ratio, which should please gamers that are looking for both a portable and an affordable gaming notebook. Input devices, battery life, case quality and performance are all appropriate for this purchase price."
