The Acer Nitro 5 15 is typically much more expensive than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, but it offers better performance for intensive tasks like gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering due to its stronger processor and dedicated Nvidia graphics card. It’s also more suitable for multitasking with more RAM and has a higher refresh rate display which is good for fast-paced games. However, it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less portable than the IdeaPad Slim 3. The IdeaPad Slim 3, with its budget-friendly price, provides adequate performance for general use and has a longer battery life, making it more portable but less suited for demanding activities. It has a touchscreen, which the Nitro 5 lacks, but its integrated graphics and lower RAM make it less ideal for graphically intensive tasks. Give Feedback

The Acer Nitro 5 15 is good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is only fair.
The Acer Nitro 5 15 is better suited for engineering and design due to its more powerful CPU, double the RAM, dedicated high-performance graphics card, and higher-quality screen necessary for demanding tasks. While the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 has a more portable build and slightly better screen color accuracy, it falls short with a less capable CPU and integrated graphics, which might struggle with intensive engineering software and multitasking.

The Acer Nitro 5 15 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, such as web browsing and document editing, both the Acer Nitro 5 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 offer screens with adequate resolution and brightness, which makes for comfortable viewing, though the Acer may have a slight edge in visual fidelity. Engineering and design workflows benefit from wide color gamuts, and while neither laptop may fully cover professional color spaces like DCI-P3 or Adobe RGB, they can still be suitable for less color-critical tasks; however, professionals might find the Acer's display closer to their needs. Gaming and 3D applications demand high refresh rates for smooth visuals, and in this aspect, both laptops fall short, but the Acer Nitro 5, marketed towards gamers, may offer a better experience due to its emphasis on graphical performance, albeit still limited compared to specialized gaming models.

How the Acer Nitro 5 15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 is a fast QHD gaming notebook. The Nitro 5 is a well-balanced gaming laptop for just under US$ 2400. A Core i7-12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU enable QHD gaming at high to maximum settings, accompanied by fast PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) and 16 GB of RAM. Acer delivers a solid QHD gaming notebook with the Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, the laptop is not completely free of shortcomings. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The laptop heats up noticeably under load, but not excessively. Noise development is on the usual class level. Once again, however, Acer needs to improve the fan control."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
