Choosing between the Acer Nitro 5 15 and the HP Omen 16, consider what's more important for you. The Acer Nitro is less expensive and quite portable, with reasonable performance for general gaming and daily tasks. Its battery life is modest, so you might need to keep the charger handy if used away from a power source for extended periods. On the other hand, the HP Omen offers better performance, especially for more demanding applications like 3D modeling, machine learning, and more serious gaming due to a more powerful processor and graphics. It's slightly heavier but provides a larger screen and superior battery life, allowing for longer use without recharging. However, all these improvements come at a higher cost. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Sascha Mölck | June 2022
"The Acer Nitro 5 is a fast QHD gaming notebook. The Nitro 5 is a well-balanced gaming laptop for just under US$ 2400. A Core i7-12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU enable QHD gaming at high to maximum settings, accompanied by fast PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) and 16 GB of RAM. Acer delivers a solid QHD gaming notebook with the Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, the laptop is not completely free of shortcomings. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The laptop heats up noticeably under load, but not excessively. Noise development is on the usual class level. Once again, however, Acer needs to improve the fan control."

NotebookCheck

Christian Hintze | October 2021
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."
