The Acer Nitro 5 is often more expensive but offers better performance for demanding tasks like gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering, thanks to its more powerful processor and GPU. It also has more RAM and storage, plus a high refresh rate display for smoother visuals, which may appeal to gamers or professionals needing fast screen responses. However, it sacrifices some portability being heavier, and it has shorter battery life than the HP Envy x360. The HP Envy x360 is less expensive, lighter, and provides longer battery life, making it more portable. It's equipped with a touchscreen and is suitable for general use, but its processor and integrated graphics are less powerful, offering modest performance for 3D tasks and gaming. It also has less RAM and storage. This device would be a good fit for everyday tasks and users who prioritize portability and battery life over high-performance computing. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Sascha Mölck | June 2022
"The Acer Nitro 5 is a fast QHD gaming notebook. The Nitro 5 is a well-balanced gaming laptop for just under US$ 2400. A Core i7-12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU enable QHD gaming at high to maximum settings, accompanied by fast PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) and 16 GB of RAM. Acer delivers a solid QHD gaming notebook with the Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, the laptop is not completely free of shortcomings. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The laptop heats up noticeably under load, but not excessively. Noise development is on the usual class level. Once again, however, Acer needs to improve the fan control."

CNET

Matt Elliott | January 2023
"Despite its good looks, stellar webcam and comfortable keyboard, the Envy x360 15 is hard to recommend because of its dim, 16:9 display. If the display isn't an issue for you, just be sure to wait for a good sale price. Otherwise, a more modern two-in-one with a 16:10 display such as the Dell Inspiron 16 2-in-1 or Lenovo Yoga 7i 16 provides a larger workspace without adding much to the size and weight of the system."
