The Acer Nitro 5 15 and Gigabyte G5 are similarly priced, making them competitive options for gaming and general use. The Nitro 5 has more RAM, which is beneficial for multitasking and more intensive tasks, but the G5 features a marginally better GPU, which might provide slightly improved performance in graphics-intensive applications like gaming or 3D rendering. On the battery front, Nitro 5 offers a larger capacity, which could result in longer usage time between charges. The G5 is lighter, which enhances its portability, but also has a shorter battery life. Both have non-touch IPS displays with similar quality, so your decision may hinge on whether you prioritize a bit more GPU power and portability (G5), or better multitasking capability and battery life (Nitro 5). The Acer Nitro 5 15 has a better screen than the Gigabyte G5 for general use, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the Acer Nitro 5 15's screen has a resolution and brightness that offer a crisp and clear visual experience, while the Gigabyte G5's similar attributes ensure adequate display quality, but both may lack in the panel technology that provides the widest viewing angles and color accuracy. When it comes to engineering and design, neither laptop's screen excels in color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, which are crucial for precision in color work, rendering both only fair in this aspect. However, for gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is key, the lower refresh rate of both screens means they may not provide the most fluid visual experience desirable for these high-motion activities.

How the Acer Nitro 5 15 and the Gigabyte G5 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 is a fast QHD gaming notebook. The Nitro 5 is a well-balanced gaming laptop for just under US$ 2400. A Core i7-12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU enable QHD gaming at high to maximum settings, accompanied by fast PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) and 16 GB of RAM. Acer delivers a solid QHD gaming notebook with the Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, the laptop is not completely free of shortcomings. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The laptop heats up noticeably under load, but not excessively. Noise development is on the usual class level. Once again, however, Acer needs to improve the fan control."
"The Gigabyte G5 KE is a midrange gaming laptop that checks most boxes. Gigabyte makes good use of the Core i5-12500H and RTX 3060 Laptop GPU combo, and we find no untoward issues with overall performance. The dual-fan quad-heatpipe cooling arrangement does well to ensure that the underlying hardware doesn't throttle under load. That being said, the display is below par when compared to 2023 standards, especially when competing devices."
