The Acer Nitro 5 15 is significantly less expensive and offers strong performance for general use and gaming, enhanced by its dedicated gaming appearance, hardware ray tracing compatibility, and high refresh rate display, making it suitable for intense gaming despite its lesser color accuracy and brightness. In contrast, the ASUS Zenbook Pro 16X is more expensive but has a larger, higher-resolution OLED touchscreen with exquisite color accuracy and brightness, a longer battery life, facial recognition for added security, and a more premium build, tailored for creative professionals and those needing a powerful machine for engineering and 3D work. It's lighter and has a higher portability score but its lower refresh rate might not be ideal for fast-paced gaming. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Sascha Mölck | June 2022
"The Acer Nitro 5 is a fast QHD gaming notebook. The Nitro 5 is a well-balanced gaming laptop for just under US$ 2400. A Core i7-12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU enable QHD gaming at high to maximum settings, accompanied by fast PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) and 16 GB of RAM. Acer delivers a solid QHD gaming notebook with the Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, the laptop is not completely free of shortcomings. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The laptop heats up noticeably under load, but not excessively. Noise development is on the usual class level. Once again, however, Acer needs to improve the fan control."

Marc Herter, Alex Wätzel | November 2023
"The new Zenbook Pro 16X is more powerful, quieter and doesn't need to shy away from dedicated workstations and gamers. It is also comparatively compact, and our test device is the best Zenbook that we've reviewed so far. It seems equally suitable for content creators and gamers or anyone looking for a very powerful laptop that is still slim."
