The Acer Nitro 5 15 offers a balance of performance and value, suitable for general use and gaming, with a 144Hz screen refresh rate, making it good for fast-paced games. It's also more portable and has better battery life than the Asus. However, its screen is less sharp, and it lacks the high-end colorspace coverage that content creators might need. In contrast, the Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 X3D is a powerhouse designed for intense tasks like gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning, with a superior screen for both color accuracy and fast motion. It's also built for expansion with more RAM and storage slots. But it comes at a premium, with a higher price, less portability due to its size and weight, and shorter battery life, making it less ideal for on-the-go use. Choose the Acer for a blend of performance and portability at a lower price, or the Asus for top-tier performance and screen quality if you prioritize those over cost and mobility. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Sascha Mölck | June 2022
"The Acer Nitro 5 is a fast QHD gaming notebook. The Nitro 5 is a well-balanced gaming laptop for just under US$ 2400. A Core i7-12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU enable QHD gaming at high to maximum settings, accompanied by fast PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) and 16 GB of RAM. Acer delivers a solid QHD gaming notebook with the Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, the laptop is not completely free of shortcomings. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The laptop heats up noticeably under load, but not excessively. Noise development is on the usual class level. Once again, however, Acer needs to improve the fan control."
