The Acer Nitro 5 15 generally costs less and offers more storage and memory, which is better for intensive tasks like gaming and engineering. Its higher refresh rate display and dedicated Nvidia graphics card make it suitable for gaming and 3D work. However, it's bulkier and has shorter battery life, making it less portable. The Apple MacBook Air 15, on the other hand, is lighter with longer battery life and a higher resolution screen, ideal for general use and portability. It also has a higher quality build and better speakers. Choose Acer if performance is a priority, or MacBook Air for portability and better screen quality. Give Feedback

The Acer Nitro 5 15 is good for gaming and AI, while the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) is only fair.
The Acer Nitro 5 15 is equipped with a powerful Nvidia RTX 4050 GPU and a high screen refresh rate, which are very important for a smooth and immersive gaming or 3D experience, whereas the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) contains an Apple M2 chip with a fair GPU and does not offer a high refresh rate, which, combined with the limited availability of popular games for MacOS, makes it less suited for gaming and 3D tasks.

The Apple MacBook Air 15 has a better screen than the Acer Nitro 5 15 for general use, AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Nitro 5's screen might look crisp and clear for browsing and watching videos due to its resolution and brightness but may lack the wider color gamuts needed for precision in engineering and design. The Apple MacBook Air offers a high-resolution display with superior color accuracy, making it suitable for detailed design work; however, neither is ideal for 3D because they lack the high refresh rates that provide smoother motion and better rendering in fast-paced visual environments. Hence, while both excel in certain areas, gamers and 3D developers should seek laptops specifically tailored to their high-refresh-rate needs.

How the Acer Nitro 5 15 and the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 is a fast QHD gaming notebook. The Nitro 5 is a well-balanced gaming laptop for just under US$ 2400. A Core i7-12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU enable QHD gaming at high to maximum settings, accompanied by fast PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) and 16 GB of RAM. Acer delivers a solid QHD gaming notebook with the Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, the laptop is not completely free of shortcomings. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The laptop heats up noticeably under load, but not excessively. Noise development is on the usual class level. Once again, however, Acer needs to improve the fan control."
"The Apple MacBook Air 15 is boringly good. The new MacBook Air 15 is a very good, but also boring device, because apart from the larger screen and the higher price, there are no differences compared to the smaller MacBook Air M2 from last year. No new processor, no additional ports, just the usual basic hardware - but the overall package is extremely good and it simply works. Above all, the lack of fans is an aspect that should not be underestimated in everyday use. In our opinion, the Air could be a lot better, but Apple goes easy on itself here."
