The Acer Nitro 5 15 offers robust gaming performance due to its powerful GPU, making it suitable for intensive gaming and engineering applications. However, it is heavier and has a shorter battery life, which impacts its portability. On the other hand, the Acer Swift X (2023) is lighter, has a higher resolution screen with a better colorspace coverage, and a longer battery life, ideal for professionals needing a portable laptop with a high-quality display for graphic design and content creation. Both laptops have similar processing power and memory, but if portability and screen quality are your priorities, the Swift X may be preferable, while the Nitro 5 is better suited for gaming and task-intensive work. The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the Acer Nitro 5 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Nitro 5 15 has a display that is bright and clear, with decent resolution, making it suitable for everyday tasks such as browsing and watching videos, which are common in general use. However, for engineering and design work, the limited color gamuts could lead to less accurate color representation, although the resolution and brightness are sufficient. For gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rate can hinder the experience, as these tasks highly benefit from smoother motion and quick screen updates that come from higher refresh rates.

How the Acer Nitro 5 15 and the Acer Swift X (2023) compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 is a fast QHD gaming notebook. The Nitro 5 is a well-balanced gaming laptop for just under US$ 2400. A Core i7-12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU enable QHD gaming at high to maximum settings, accompanied by fast PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) and 16 GB of RAM. Acer delivers a solid QHD gaming notebook with the Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, the laptop is not completely free of shortcomings. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The laptop heats up noticeably under load, but not excessively. Noise development is on the usual class level. Once again, however, Acer needs to improve the fan control."
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
