When deciding between the Acer Nitro 17 and the HP Omen Transcend 14, consider that the Acer may be more cost-effective and typically offers a larger screen which is great for gaming and watching videos, but this also makes it heavier and less portable. The HP, on the other hand, usually provides better portability due to its smaller size, making it easier to carry around for everyday use or travel. It might also have higher-end features for intensive tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning. Ultimately, if you prioritize gaming or multimedia and don't mind a larger size, the Acer could serve you well, whereas if your focus is on high performance in a more compact form, the HP might be the better investment. PCMag

Mark Knapp | October 2023
"The Acer Nitro 17 isn't an exceptional gaming laptop; it's kind of chunky even among 17.3-inch notebooks, with a lackluster keyboard, and it doesn't outperform comparably priced machines. But there's a lot to like about it, including a good array of ports, a screen that's sharp and bright for work and play alike, and battery life that soundly beats the competition. All this comes at an affordable price. If size and weight aren't big concerns, you'll find the Nitro 17 a dependable big-screen gaming rig. If you crave higher quality, consider a slight step down or up in screen size with the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 or Alienware m18 respectively."
