The Acer Nitro 17 is more expensive but offers superior performance with a larger storage, more RAM, and a powerful AMD Ryzen 7 processor with Nvidia RTX graphics, beneficial for intensive gaming, 3D work, and engineering software. It has a larger screen and a higher refresh rate, but it's also heavier and has a shorter battery life. The ASUS Vivobook 15 is more affordable, lighter, and has a longer battery life, suited for general use and portability but less capable for demanding tasks due to its Intel i3 processor and basic integrated graphics. The Acer Nitro 17 is good for general use, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The Acer Nitro 17 offers a robust AMD Ryzen 7 CPU, ample RAM, and a high-refresh-rate screen, beneficial for multitasking and smoother visuals, but it's less portable with a heavier build and has shorter battery life, making it less ideal for on-the-go usage. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook 15 is more lightweight and thus easier to carry, but it compromises with a lower-end Intel i3 CPU and less RAM, which may affect performance during demanding tasks, and its screen quality and speaker ratings are lower compared to the Acer.

The Acer Nitro 17 is good for gaming and AI, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is poor.
The Acer Nitro 17 has a more powerful GPU and higher screen refresh rate, making it well-suited for demanding gaming and 3D tasks where smooth visuals and quick response times are crucial. The ASUS Vivobook 15, while capable of handling light gaming and 3D applications, provides a less immersive experience due to its modest GPU and screen refresh rate, but is a more cost-effective option for users with moderate usage needs.

The Acer Nitro 17 is good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is only fair.
The Acer Nitro 17 is better suited for engineering and design due to its more powerful AMD Ryzen CPU, higher RAM, and significantly better Nvidia RTX GPU, along with a larger, high-refresh-rate screen that is more color-accurate, making it ideal for intensive tasks requiring high processing power and detailed graphics work. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook 15, with its Intel i3 CPU and integrated graphics, offers limited performance for demanding engineering software but benefits from greater portability and a lower price, suitable for less intensive tasks and regular use.

The Acer Nitro 17 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Acer Nitro 17 offers superior screen resolution and brightness which makes it suitable for general use and engineering tasks, ensuring sharp and clear visuals; however, it falls short in refresh rate, which is crucial for smooth visuals in gaming and 3D applications. The ASUS Vivobook 15 has a screen that provides adequate resolution and brightness for comfortable day-to-day tasks and moderate engineering work, but similar to the Acer, it doesn't excel in refresh rate, leading to less optimal performance in fast-paced gaming or 3D rendering. Both laptops, while capable in certain areas, miss the high refresh rates desired by gamers and professionals working with dynamic 3D content.

"The Acer Nitro 17 isn't an exceptional gaming laptop; it's kind of chunky even among 17.3-inch notebooks, with a lackluster keyboard, and it doesn't outperform comparably priced machines. But there's a lot to like about it, including a good array of ports, a screen that's sharp and bright for work and play alike, and battery life that soundly beats the competition. All this comes at an affordable price. If size and weight aren't big concerns, you'll find the Nitro 17 a dependable big-screen gaming rig. If you crave higher quality, consider a slight step down or up in screen size with the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 or Alienware m18 respectively."
"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
