The Acer Aspire Vero 15 offers good performance for general use, a backlit keyboard, and a reasonable price but comes with a heavier design and a shorter battery life. In comparison, the Apple MacBook Air is lighter and boasts longer battery life, silent operation, and higher build quality, which may be appealing if portability and quiet usage are important to you. However, it has less storage and RAM than the Acer, which could limit performance for more demanding tasks. Neither laptop is ideal for intensive gaming, but both can handle everyday tasks well and some engineering or 3D/machine learning with varying degrees of efficiency. Choose the Acer if you need better performance and don't mind carrying a bit more weight, or the MacBook Air if you prioritize a lighter laptop with longer battery life and a quieter, higher quality build. The Apple MacBook Air has a better screen than the Acer Aspire Vero 15 for general use, AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire Vero 15, with its serviceable screen, may fall short for gamers because it lacks a high refresh rate, which is crucial for smooth visuals in fast-paced games, whereas its resolution and panel type are adequate for everyday tasks and sufficient for engineering software but not optimal for color precision. The Apple MacBook Air's screen shines in clarity and color representation for general use and engineering, due to a high resolution and wide color gamut, but its standard refresh rate makes it less suitable for gaming where fast screen updates are key. For designers and general users, both laptops will do just fine, but for gamers, the need for rapid image changes might make these options less appealing.

The Apple MacBook Air (2020) and Acer Aspire Vero 15 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Acer Aspire Vero 15 offers fair gaming and 3D performance due to its Intel Iris Xe integrated GPU, which is adequate for light gaming but may struggle with more demanding graphics tasks, despite the benefit of running Windows which supports a broader array of games. In contrast, the Apple MacBook Air (2020) is also fair for 3D tasks, thanks to its Apple M1 integrated GPU that has enough power for basic 3D applications, but gaming is more restricted due to fewer compatible games on macOS and less powerful graphics compared to dedicated gaming GPUs.

How the Acer Aspire Vero 15 and the Apple MacBook Air (2020) compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire Vero is an eco-friendly Windows 11 laptop. Made with PCR plastic, the Acer Aspire Vero stands out from the midrange laptop pack with a funky, eco-friendly design. Powering Microsoft’s latest operating system is a Core i7 chip from Intel’s latest series, integrated Intel Xe graphics, and an ample 16GB of RAM. The laptop feels snappy, but its battery life disappoints. I also have a few quibbles with the display and keyboard, but they’re relatively minor. With a longer runtime, the Aspire Vero would earn a stronger recommendation for students or anyone looking for an eco-friendly, big-screen laptop."
"The Apple MacBook Air M2 Entry is a very good, but too expensive daily MacBook. The new MacBook Air M2 is undoubtedly once again a very good mobile companion, but we are still a little bit disappointed on a very high level, which is definitely connected with the increased price point. The new chassis is extremely slim and the front edge is no problem during typing, but the bezels are pretty wide for a modern device and in addition with the vertical space required for the notch, the new Air has larger footprint than some Windows rivals."
