For general use, the Acer Aspire Go 15 is a cost-effective choice with a decent performance and excellent battery life, making it ideal for everyday tasks like web browsing and office applications. It's also quite portable and has a good quality screen for typical use. However, it falls short in gaming, 3D rendering, and intensive engineering tasks due to its less powerful processor and lack of a dedicated GPU. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion Pro 5, while pricier, offers superior performance for gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks with its powerful AMD Ryzen processor and Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU. It also has a higher resolution screen with better color accuracy, which is beneficial for engineering work and entertainment. The Legion Pro 5 is less portable due to its weight and size, and it has a shorter battery life compared to the Acer, but it includes more advanced features like hardware ray tracing and DLSS, which are great for gaming and 3D applications. In summary, if you prioritize portability, battery life, and general use within a budget, the Acer Aspire Go 15 is the way to go. But if you're looking for a laptop that can handle demanding tasks like gaming and intensive graphics work, and you don't mind a heavier, less portable device with a higher price tag, the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 is the better option. PCMag

Mark Knapp | July 2023
"It doesn't quite match its Legion Pro 7i sibling as an Editors' Choice winner, but Lenovo's AMD-powered Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 is a stylish, well-built gaming laptop with solid performance at both 1080p and its sharper native resolution. It's cheaper than some comparably equipped machines and better than some similarly priced ones. That's a recipe for success, even without its frequent availability of discounts or sales. A brighter screen and longer battery life would be nice, but even as is the Legion Pro 5 earns a solid recommendation."
