For general use, the Apple MacBook Air offers a superior display, longer battery life, and a more portable design, making it a great choice for everyday tasks and on-the-go productivity. However, it comes at a higher price point. The Acer Aspire Go 15, on the other hand, is more budget-friendly and provides a larger screen, which might be preferable if you value screen size for less intensive tasks.
When it comes to performance, the MacBook Air's M2 chip delivers excellent efficiency and speed for its size, outperforming the Acer's Intel i3 in tasks like video editing and light gaming. The Acer, however, could be more suitable for those who need a number pad on the keyboard or prefer Windows 11 over macOS.
For specialized tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning, the MacBook Air's GPU is more capable, despite the Acer having a dedicated GPU. The Acer's performance is more suited for basic tasks and won't handle intensive graphics as well as the MacBook Air.
In terms of engineering tasks, the MacBook Air's overall performance is more robust, but if you're looking for a laptop primarily for general use and are on a tighter budget, the Acer Aspire Go 15 is a reasonable choice, provided you don't mind its limitations in performance and portability. How the Acer Aspire Go 15 and the Apple MacBook Air (2022) compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air M2 Entry is a very good, but too expensive daily MacBook. The new MacBook Air M2 is undoubtedly once again a very good mobile companion, but we are still a little bit disappointed on a very high level, which is definitely connected with the increased price point. The new chassis is extremely slim and the front edge is no problem during typing, but the bezels are pretty wide for a modern device and in addition with the vertical space required for the notch, the new Air has larger footprint than some Windows rivals."
