For general use, the Acer Aspire Go 14 offers a sharper and taller 16:10 display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200, which is better suited for productivity tasks compared to the ASUS Vivobook 17's 16:9 1080p screen. It's also more portable due to its smaller size and longer battery life, making it ideal for on-the-go use. However, if you value a larger screen for more immersive viewing and don't mind a slightly heavier and less portable laptop, the ASUS Vivobook 17 is a good choice. It also has a number pad, which could be beneficial for spreadsheet work or data entry. In terms of performance, both laptops are equipped with 8GB of RAM and budget-friendly processors, but the ASUS's Intel i3-1220P may offer slightly better performance for general tasks. Neither laptop is designed for intensive gaming or engineering tasks, but the ASUS might handle light gaming and basic photo editing better due to its more powerful integrated graphics. Ultimately, if you prioritize portability, battery life, and a better screen for general productivity, the Acer Aspire Go 14 is the way to go. But if you want a larger display, potentially better performance for light gaming, and a number pad, the ASUS Vivobook 17 would be more suitable. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Marvin Gollor | May 2022
"The ASUS Vivobook 17 is an affordable 17-inch laptop with passive cooling. On one hand, you get a really quiet and cool work device with a good system performance, many connections, good maintenance options, speakers acceptable for multimedia enjoyment, and a sharp and clear matte FHD IPS display with the Asus VivoBook 17 (F712JA). On the other hand, the USB-C port lacks Power Delivery and DisplayPort, and the display, a higher brightness and better color space coverage."
