For general use, the Acer Aspire Go 14 offers excellent value with its budget-friendly price, solid performance, and good battery life, making it a practical choice for everyday tasks. Its compact size and lightweight design enhance portability, ideal for on-the-go users. However, it falls short in gaming and intensive tasks due to its less powerful processor and GPU. In contrast, the ASUS ROG Strix G18 is a powerhouse designed for high-performance activities such as gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning, thanks to its top-tier processor and GPU. It also boasts a superior display with a high refresh rate and color accuracy, which is fantastic for gaming and creative work. However, its larger size and significantly higher price tag make it less portable and more of an investment. Additionally, the battery life is shorter compared to the Acer, which could be a drawback for mobile users. In summary, choose the Acer Aspire Go 14 for its portability and suitability for general use tasks, but if performance is paramount and portability is less of a concern, the ASUS ROG Strix G18 is the better option, especially for gaming and demanding applications. NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | March 2023
"With the ROG Strix G18, Asus has made an almost consistently good debut in the still quite new 18-inch laptop segment. The base unit case shows a few signs of weakness in the area of stability and is something which has an effect on the perceived quality of the input devices (the chassis tends to rattle a bit). Nevertheless, thanks to generous port features (incl. Thunderbolt 4), a striking design, and extensive lighting (keyboard, LED strip on the front), gamers get a fitting gaming platform."
