The Acer Aspire 5 17 offers a larger 17.3-inch screen which is beneficial for productivity but may be less portable due to its size, whereas the MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo has a smaller 13.4-inch screen that supports touch input and its flip design enhances portability. Both laptops have similar processing power though the Acer uses an i5 processor compared to the i7 on the MSI, which might make the MSI slightly more suitable for demanding tasks. The MSI also provides a better build quality and may be more suitable for professional environments due to its higher general use performance. On the flip side, the Acer could be more cost-effective and with an ample screen size can be a good choice for everyday use and multimedia consumption. Give Feedback

The MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo is good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 5 17 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 with its lower-powered CPU and less RAM may struggle with demanding engineering software compared to the MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo, which offers a more robust CPU and double the RAM for improved performance in such tasks. While the Acer has a larger screen, the MSI's higher resolution and touch capability alongside better screen quality metrics make it more suitable for design work; however, the Acer offers a number pad and may be more affordable, whereas the MSI is more portable, with a notably lighter build, and includes features like a convertible design and facial recognition.

The MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Aspire 5 17's screen is ample because its resolution and brightness provide clear and vibrant visuals, but the MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo's superior panel offers sharper and more vivid images. In engineering and design, the MSI's higher color accuracy and broader color gamuts make it ideal for precise color work, whereas the Acer's more modest gamuts may be adequate for less color-critical tasks. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both the Acer and MSI fall short due to their lower refresh rates, though they still manage basic tasks; dedicated gaming laptops would be necessary for optimal performance in these scenarios.

The Acer Aspire 5 17 has a larger screen and a full-size keyboard with a number pad, making it comfortable for extended general use, but it's heavier and not as portable as the MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo, which offers a higher-resolution touchscreen, better portability due to its smaller size and weight, and longer battery life, making it ideal for on-the-go use while still being powerful enough for a variety of tasks.

The MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo and Acer Aspire 5 17 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 and MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo are considered fair for gaming and 3D because they both feature integrated Iris Xe graphics, which are adequate for casual gaming and basic 3D tasks, but not optimal for intensive gaming or advanced 3D applications. While both have similar screen refresh rates, critical for smooth visuals in gaming, the laptops' graphics capabilities and processing power don't match high-end gaming laptops dedicated to more demanding gaming and 3D rendering.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"MSI wants to prove that it can do more than just gaming laptops and the Summit E13 Flip is a great example of what the manufacturer is capable of especially in terms of aesthetics and performance. Normally for subnotebooks or convertibles, TDP and performance are often below average as makers want to meet slimmer designs and lower weight targets. The Summit manages to outperform others in its size class and category while still looking sleek and portable in the process. If you want a convertible that won't throttle significantly when under load, then this MSI will be one of the better options you can find."
