The LG Gram 17 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 offers a modest screen with limited brightness and resolution which suffices for basic tasks but may not pop with color or detail as higher-end screens do; hence, it is considered fair for general use and engineering tasks where precision viewing is less critical. The LG Gram 17 has enhanced brightness and resolution, providing crisper and more vivid images suitable for detail-oriented work in general use and engineering, while also offering better coverage of professional color gamuts. However, both laptops fall short for gaming and 3D applications due to their lower refresh rates, which can't smoothly render fast-paced visuals compared to specialized gaming displays.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the LG Gram 17 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"The LG Gram 17 is a light office laptop with a large display and great battery life. The newest incarnation of the Gram 17 can be classified as a model update. LG uses the predecessor's compact, light magnesium case along with an identical port configuration (including 2x Thunderbolt 4) and keyboard. Changes can be found in the hardware. With the Gram 17 (2022), LG offers a light (approx. 1,350 g), mobile work device - and finally with a matte display."
